leaps and bounds!

Well we had a great "unofficial" spring break, we didn't do much except to enjoy the beautiful days outdoors, eat at a couple of awesome restraunts, and enjoy time with family!

Madisons favorite activity was of course meeting the newest member of the Godwin clan, a handsome little yellow lab named Wilson, We got to go to the Jefferson park and play and eats some Hamburger store and DQ and hang with Claire and Wilson! The only problem is that Wilson seems to like his shisha a little too much! :)

Sawyer well his fave was either meeting wilson, or going to the boardwalk and watching the boats on the river, but im sure he would tell you that the 3 hours spent at saltgrass was not his favorite.

Was super excited to try out the new cupcake place, only to be incredibly dissapointed, they were awful after you paid like 4 bucks for it, though rob said his reeses one was pretty good, Madison and I were quite dissapointed in the red velvet and the vanilla with purple icing, and just to throw this out there they had a choclate and bacon cupcake, that had bacon bits on it, i know it just sounds disgusting, but it really looked it!!

My sister had a garage sale on saturday that the kids and i helped her with, well we just entertained really, running around like crazy folks! Sawyer was very interested in chasing all the shoppers and maddie just wanted to pretend she was a shopper! quite the experience!

We took easter pics of the kids friday, well we tried, Maddie of course my diva did an awesome job at posing and putting on a show, but since they were outdoor pics, sawyer was way more interested in running around and playing! so im hoping we got some great action shots of  him, but i was unable to get any together pics at all! they just won't cooperate! but i can't wait to see them!

Hope you all have a super blessed day!

The many rolls of Mom!

When you are born, either son or daughter, you have one roll, to be son or daughter, all your needs are met by your parents, you are loved and cuddled, and fed, and doctored, and completely cared for by another, a MOTHER! It has only been in recent years that I have made this revelation! When Madison was born, Rob and I became official parents! How scary is that aspect, with in moments we became responsible for someone elses life! Of course in that moment i would have easily given my life for hers, and still would for either of my babies! But when you are no longer just responsable for you but a tiny little human things seem to take on a whole new meaning, BABY PROOF is an understatement, i have recently learned this even more with Sawyer, we now call it Sawyer Proofing, becuase when he was about a yr old, he pulled the plug cover out of the socket and brought it to me, just to say ya thats not gonna work mom! With each new day brings new responsabilites, and nothing makes that more clear as when you have sick babies!

This weekend was no exception, we started thursday with sawyer getting a bug, and since he is not quite two there is no meds to help tummy issues, so the poor baby just had to suffer through it, and as i sat bucket ready rocking him all night, my heart ached that i couldn't relieve his pain! then Saturday Madison got it, and even though she could have some meds, the look on my normally joyful babys face was replaced with sunk in eyes, and very pale! it broke my heart, but then it got worse, rob and i both had it too! So not only was I unable to heal them, i could barely take care of them since i was so miserable to!

I think sometimes we forget how blessed we are to be well and able to go and do, that when we are sick we are reminded of that, becuase when i woke up this morning feeling well and my babies were well, i was so relieved, and exhausted just thinking about all the cleaning i was going to have to do, so that we would not be regetting this bug!

well now that i have rambled on and on, i better get to disenfecting!

Have a blessed day!

The Simple Womans Day Book!

FOR TODAY March 10, 2011

Outside my window... i hear the voices of school children playing, dogs barking, and birds chirping, all sounds of a bright sunny day!

I am thinking...about the day, and what it holds as it unfolds, probably house cleaning, a little nap time, maybe some barbies, alot of Mickey Mouse, and hopefully time for mommy to go for a walk! then dinner of course and to bed early? probably not but there is always hope!

I am thankful for...so many wonderful things, my babies, my husband, but mostly today for happiness, It is an amazing feeling to just know true happiness!

From the learning rooms...(if this applies), Sawyer is amazing us each day with new vocabulary, He is really learning his animals, mainly Dog, Cat, duck, Fish, and Dinousaur of course, hes matching sounds with them too. Madison is still working on her letters, but she can spell and write her first name by herself! now on to our extremely long last name, rob and I laughed because on the childrens music program Madisons name went on forever past all the other kiddos names!

From the kitchen... haha thats funny, though I am branching out a lil and cooking most suppers, they are pretty easy, tonights menu is either fried porkchops or fajitas, i know totaly not close to one another but thats how we roll!!

I am wearing...ahhh my pajamas still, love mornings were I can stay in the comfort of my pajamas for as long asI can stand! It just adds an extra relaxing tone to the day!

I am creating...I am in process of learning to sew, I made Sawyer a pair of Mickey Mouse shorts which he adores, even with the crooked seems and all! Next up is a pillow case dress for Maddie, then maybe a bag or two for mommy! I love sewing, I love working to get a finished project! I am really really ready to get out my scrapbooking stuff and start working on that again, soon maddie will be able to create with me!

I am going...the list is gigantic really, I am going to clean, organize and rearange lots and lots of things!

I am reading... I just finished Heaven is for Real, its an amazing book and I highly recomend it, Next on the list is Made to Crave, we start the Bible Study in 3 weeks! YAY!

I am hoping...to get maddie registered for school!

I am hearing..."Hot Dog, Hot Dog, Hot Diggity Dog" as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is ending, which means time to get lunch ready and almost nap time!!

Around the house... lots of playing going on, Madisons new fetish is dress up, so just about every ten minutes or so we are a new charecter, with new things to do! LOVE LOVE LOVE her vivid imagination! we never know where it will take us!

One of my favorite things...is hearing sawyers laugh, he has a great belly laugh, and when he gets tickled it takes up his whole face!!!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Shopping without kids, is on my agenda for the weekend! YAY!

Here is picture for thought I am sharing..Theres that laugh that i Love!

Weekend Wows!

Why does it seem that the weekends just fly by, they pass so quickly i sometimes have to question rather we really even had a Saturday and a Sunday this week. This weekend was no exception, we had the days packed with fun activities and we managed to fit in everyone! Saturday we went to a baby shower for my cousin which meant the kiddos got to play with alot of their little cousins! Sunday was more of our packed out lets race to get everywhere we have to be kind of day! First I was baptized Sunday morning! That was so awesome, even though i almost tumbled into the baptistery, only a few witnesses so i don't think it will be on you tube anytime soon! HAHA! After church we headed to Jefferson where Maddie and Claire were in the Children's parade again, they just love being the center of attention! but why wouldn't they, they are two of the most beautiful girls i know! After the parade, and a few rides it was back to Marshall for Maddie's Choir program! It rocked!! Those kids are awesome, and so are their teachers! It was truly a blessing to hear our kiddos singing praises to the Lord! Whew, I am tired just writing all that down, no wonder my kiddos slept in this morning!

In other news, I have started reading Heaven is For Real, i am already on chapter 12 and have only had this book one night, it is an easy but amazing read! I highly recommend it! Its about a little boy who was undergoing emergency surgery, he is only 3 but While unconscious he went to heaven, the things he says and the things he saw, are amazing and they all match up with the bible!

We are headed into final practices for the dance recital, its time for those cute miller pictures, ya know the ones that are like Doritos, i bet ya can't buy just one! I am so excited to get her all dolled up!

Hope you all have a very blessed day!

Life Changing moments

Well as my first official blog, i figured what better way to kick off than to share about my recent life changing moment! I rededicated my life to Christ! Its kinda weird to say that because I feel like Ive been a christian forever, I was raised in church with a christian family, and at age 8 i accepted Christ for the first time and was baptized, but in the last few months I had really been questioning that decision, basically because i couldn't remember it. Then one night I was talking to Rob and he asked "are you saved" and I couldn't answer him with a definite yes or no, which freaked me out!! That's when i decided that something had to change. It was an amazing feeling going from unsure to sure! Psalms 9:1-2
"I will praise You, O Lord with my whole heart, I will tell of all Your Marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name Lord most High!

In other news in the Cunningham clan, Princess Madison is coming into the final preparations for her first dance class recital and kids choir concert, Her concert is this Sunday and it is her first big kid performance, but she isn't scared the girl was born to be on stage. She is so excited about her dance class and recital she can't wait for her fans to come and watch her dance! I can't wait to see her on stage instead of through the little glass window! Big boy Sawyer is still as adventurous as ever, i am honestly in shock that we have gone this far with just bumps and bruises, (knock on wood)! He has made a friend at church, and its so awesome, cause every time we drop him off you hear her sweet voice call SAWYER!!  She has defiantly helped the poor nursery lady's calm him down and get him to playing! His vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds, its fun to talk to him and know what he is saying finally! Rob has also started teaching him karate, its funny to watch him try and kick as he says HIYA! lol

I am also excited that the kick off to game night is this month, I think its going to be so much fun as we all get together to hang out and have fun! and of course EAT! lol its not a get together without food! I'm a little sad that the Jonah bible study is wrapping up but am excited about the Made to Crave study we are starting!! Rob has started working with the youth, which is neat, i think he has always had a heart for the youth, I'm excited to see where this leads him and us! Awanas is quickly coming to an end this year, and it has been an adventure to say the least! We need help and hoping that the revamps that are going to take place for next year are going to help tremendously!
...
well hope you have enjoyed a small walk through the adventures of the Cunningham Clan!
